While I wish to allow my subjects all possible Latitude in concerns that properly fall in their Purview, it is truly tempting to me this day to step in and make an Imperial decree settling planetary matters for the International Astronomical Union.

I shall refrain. Yet know that in Her Majesty's view, there remain ten planets circling Sol. Ten.

And the name of the tenth among them is Xena, and her moon is Gabrielle - or so it shall ever be in my heart. I bear sufficient fondness for Greek mythology to accept - however unwillingly - the IAU's decision to change these names to Eris and Dysnomia...but it shall never be said in my Presence that there be no more than Eight planets in my Capital System.

...Or at least nine; fine, make Eris a "dwarf planet", but...Pluto is a planet!

*sniffs disdainfully at silly assertion that our solar system has only eight*

The Govenor of Mars would like to make a public statment that Pluto will always be regarded and respected as a planet amongst the people of Mars...As for Xena and Gabriele no further thoughts have been voiced...

OOC: Aka the day I can hear that name without having a slew of bad memories pertaining to an awful TV show I am unwilling to acknowledge it as a planet...>___<; *shakes fist at awful show and thanks it for ruining a perfectly good legend*

I am sure Her Majesty greatly appreciates your unwavering support in this affair. At least as pertains to the Matter of Pluto. :)

(And can you imagine what the Coriolans would say about us deliberately downgrading our own capital system from nine planets to eight?! Methinks the IAU has not thought this through. At least when it comes to interstellar politics!)

(...Besides which, I don't think they've thought about this. (http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/5197/plutoji1.jpg))

*shudders* Holy wow you I your patience with that series -____-; definitely not my choice of good television hahah

The govenor of Mars whole heartedly agrees that such changes (downgrading nine planets to eight) would only complicate matters nevermind encourage possible political upheaval...

(OMG!! that pic is so perfect!! m(_ _)m) damn! It has just made my day thank you!! =D

Well...I was a teen, and we didn't have cable or satellite TV; there weren't that many shows to pick from! :)

Plus, you know, I really liked the fact it was set in ancient Greece. :) Even if there were lots of nitpicky issues, like the date-able stuff in those shows meaning they could have been set anytime in a fifteen-hundred-year period, which I was perfectly well aware of even then.

I suppose for TV producers, any events before 1000 AD count as long ago and must have all happened around the same time, and even if they didn't, most of the audience won't know the difference, so who cares, right? *amused* (Just think what TV set in the twentieth century will be like in a thousand years!)

At least they didn't do retroactive changing of the show's established timeline, like Star Trek is so fond of doing (my theory about that is they've done so much time-traveling, they've clearly split into a ton of alternate universes. They just don't tell the viewers that. But it's obvious that every series is in a different universe - and then changes universes at random moments...)

Yeah, I watched tons of Star Trek as well as Xena and Hercules. Can I stick with bad SF/fantasy TV shows or what? ;)

*groans* No comment about the inaccuracy of such shows. I'm a sucker for details or at least some semblence of accuracy so you can just imagine how much teeth grinding went on when I attempted to watch Xena couple of times with my bro's ex-girlfriend haha

YEah i'm guilty of watching ST too (DS9) so i guess I shouldn't talk LOL
